5 Ideas for a Lockdown Date Night

For the past couple of years, I have been making conscious effort to take more time for me and Clive. This is known as date night or a day date. We have been making sure that at least once a month, we take a night that is just for us. During this time we normally go out for a meal or sometimes its a day trip somewhere new. But the one thing in common is that we ignore our phones and focus on each other.

Obviously, over the last few months, going out has not been an option. However this doesn’t mean that we have ignored our need for time together. So, what I thought I would do is tell you guys a few of the ideas that we have been using to get some alone time.

Movie Night (with a twist) ~ A movie night is a classic way to do date night. But don’t ever underestimate the power of a good movie night. We have also turned this into a full blown movie day, with a pizza and junk food whilst we binge our favourite series.

Home Cooked Meal ~ This might not sound great initially but there is something highly entertaining and quite romantic about cooking together. This is mainly down to the fact that I cannot cook to save my life!

Back-garden Picnic ~ This is something that we started back in the summer and loved spending the morning having brunch on the decking or eating dinner as the sun set. I highly recommend this one and make sure that you leave your phones in the house!

Game Night ~ This has become a typical Saturday night for us at the moment. We play on computers, but this can be adapted for you guys with an alternative. Although if you are competitive I would leave out Monopoly.

Food by Firelight ~ This one that I have planned out in particular for Valentines Day. To me this is ultimate romantic night in. A night spent sitting by the fire enjoying a snack sharing platter and just talking. Conversation is thee best way to create a strong bond. It’s something we always focus on when we have date night.

I hope you guys have found these ideas useful and I would love to know if you put any of them to use on Valentines Day. Let me know in the comments below. Also if you are looking for the perfect gift for the woman in your life, check out my Valentines gift guide.

Me and my partner were the same, we used to always do a mid-week date on a Wednesday. Like the cinemas or something to break the week up and have something to look forward to after work. You can’t beat a move night with a Dominos and lots of sweets xx
