Shoes are a key item all year round, they can tie a whole outfit together. But these are the essential shoes for the summer months.
Anyone who knows me will understand that I have a serious obsession for shoes. I have more than most people and I hold my hands up and say that it is not useful. But I work hard and feel like I deserve them. Everyone has their own opinions, but I thought it would be nice to share my favourites for Summer ’19.
Classic White Sandals
This is a pair of shoes that I believe are a staple to any wardrobe in the summer. They can bring a touch of class to any outfit. I have bought two sets, one heeled and one flat because I find I need both depending on the event. I have found that the best way to pair my heels are with a long graceful maxi skirt or dress. This works for an evening out or lunch date as they can take an outfit from casual to dressy easily.
They have also become a staple in my work wardrobe as they work well for meetings and days around the office. They aren’t too casual or too high for walking to meet clients. I have been pairing them with my paper-bag trousers and lace blouse to bring a some femininity to the corporate world. I found a gorgeous set in New Look for this season and just had to snap them up.
As mentioned, I have found that I also have a need for a flat pair of sandals in my wardrobe. As we all know, walking in heels can be a struggle during long distances. My flat sandals are far more useful when exploring a new country and spending a lot of time on my feet. I think they are going to be perfect for our trip to Rome this year. I love the way that gladiators sandals look on your feet and these ones always make my feet look tanned. My new set for this summer have come from Office and I was lucky enough to get them on sale.
I am aware that these are a love/hate situation. Personally I feel like everyone should have at least one pair of flip flops in their wardrobe for versatility. I use them most if I have got friends or family over for a BBQ or drinks in the garden. They make it so easy to walk through the house and into the garden without worrying abut changing shoes. I have also found them to be very useful on holidays whether your camping or staying in hotel. I use mine for popping to showers whilst camping or going down to breakfast if I’m in a hotel. Unfortunately I cant link the set above as they came from a lovely, little independent store in Yorkshire.
I haven’t owned a pair of espadrilles until this year but have already found that they have been useful to have. They have been my go-to shoe for causal days around the town and popping out to run errands at weekends. Due to them being flat, I have no problems spending all day on my feet and they are going to perfect for exploring. My favourite pair are a pretty pink and came from ASOS.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and if you have any shoes that you are loving this summer I would love to hear about them as I’m always on the look out for something new to add to the collection. Let me know in the comments below. See you soon!
