This is my first blog post in a while and I thought I would jump back in to the world of writing with a subject that I thouroughly enjoy.

I love spring fashion, the styles are full of florals and feminity, I always feel pretty and delicate in the clothing. Walking around the shops and browsing the internet recently I have been developing a love for certain styles of clothing. I love discovering the new styles that come through the stores each season but I also love the timeless pieces that work year after year. In this post I want to show you guys some of the pieces that I like to keep in my wardrobe year after year and that I believe are true investment pieces for this season and seasons to come.

Culottes

These are a staple in my wardrobe and I think every modern day women should have in their arsenal as they are so durable and can be worn in so many different ways. One of my favourite ways to wear them is to work or to family meal, they always make me feel so confident in myself and my style. I like to dress them up for work with a smart blouse, heels and a tailored bag, but then at weekends I like to pop on a comfy jumper, some knee high leather boots and a fun little statement bag they get a whole new feel. These are something I would definantly invest in as I have found that they are a style that can be worked in every season and come out every year. My current favs can been found here at Topshop.

Leather Jacket

I know this will be one of those controversial items that not everyone agrees with but personally I love a leather jacket in the Spring.I have had a leather jacket in my wardrobe for as long as I can remember. My first one was a cheap thing from Primark, but since then I have reinvested in a similar style and colour time and time again. I find it is perfect balance between a winter coat and the summer months when you need no jacket at all. I love to use mine at weekends when I want that effortless ‘thrown together’ look that models have, so I pair it with culottes or jeans, with comfy shoes and its great for going around the shops or out to catch up with friends/family over lunch. The brown one that I am wearing in the photos is a couple of years old from Miss Selfridge but I have recently invested in a new dove grey one from Wallis and have linked it here.

Sunglasses

I’m kind of cheating with this one because they aren’t specifically for Spring but I’m still going to mention them as I believe they are a key item that is used throughout my wardrobe as soon as the sun makes an appearance. For those of you that love photographs the way I do these are a great way to prevent the squinty eye pose when you look into the sun and for those of you that have Friday and Saturday nights, that don’t include a cup of tea in front of your laptop, they are the best way to cover up a hangover. My favourite pair are my Ray Bans which were kindly bought for me by a family member, but I feel like everyone should have more than one set in their arsenal and I have to admit that I am loving the car silhouette this year.

Over The Knee Boots

These are by far my biggest obsession and something that should be in everybody’s wardrobe as they literally go with everything and I find that an outfit can be totally transformed by a pair of these babies. I firmly believe that these are an investment piece for the all seasons as they don’t just work in spring but all year round. As I’m a bit self conscious about my thighs I feel like these boots allow me to wear shorter skirts and feel good in them. I own two pairs currently and both have heels to them, but for those of you that are not fans of walking in heels then I have found some gorgeous one with flat bottoms. Minare currently from Matalan and Boohoo.com and they are so comfy but I’m definantly looking to upgrade on black ones this year.

Broderie Anglaise

This one again is a bit of a cheat as it isn’t a particular piece of clothing but more of a style of clothing that becomes very popular each year when the sun makes an apprearance and the tempature rises. I love the feeing I get when I wear it, I feel like it is the ultimate summer style. I personally like to invest in dresses and tops that include the pattern and find that they match nicely with other pieces in my wardrobe. Again I think this is something that is worth investing in year after year and the style comes back around each year. Some of my favourite items are currently available on ASOS.

I hope you guys have enjoyed reading my post and if any of you have any particular items that you love to wear in the Spring and Summer. I would love to hear from you. It would mean the world if you guys could leave a comment to let me know what you think.

See you soon guys!
